Mr. Dan Kagwe, has been replaced as Postmaster-General by Mr. John Tonui, a longtime manager of HR, according to the Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK).

Edward Owalo, the ICT Cabinet Secretary, made the appointment, which became effective on February 13, 2023.
“I am happy to tell you that the government has appointed you as chief executive officer and postmaster-general in the service of the Postal Corporation of Kenya for a period of three years with effect from February 13, 2023.” the letter of appointment read.
Mr. Tonui defeated 18 other contenders, including Milka Mugwe, the general manager, and Peter Korir, the former GM of Finance.
Mr. Tonui has been the acting postmaster general since December last year. Mr. Kagwe will retire in March.
He has a difficult task ahead of him in trying to turn around the state agency’s declining finances.
